Susumu Hirasawa

He formed P-MODEL in 1979. The same year, P-MODEL made its debut from the Warner Bros. label. P-MODEL became a central figure in the techno-pop/new wave movement.
In 1989, he released his solo album “Jikuu no Mizu” and began his solo career alongside P-MODEL (P-MODEL is currently on hiatus).
In his solo works, he established a unique musical world in which “the past (myth/folk world)” and “the future (science fiction/computer world)” seem to have met in “the present” with a stateless sound that places more emphasis on singing.
Since 1994, he has been holding “interactive live performances,” which he invented himself, using computers and computer graphics to develop through mutual communication with the audience.
In 1999, he was one of the first in Japan to begin music distribution via the Internet, and his music activities have always been ahead of the times, continuing to influence various artists in and outside the music industry.
